What Is The Law Of Attraction And Its Affect On Your Healing

Finding ways to enhance health, healing and enjoying a strong sense of wellbeing, has been a life-long pursuit for me as a Naturopath and understanding what is the Law Of Attraction about, has become a deep passion of mine as I search for ways to find wellbeing.
This technique provides a way to be actively involved in potentially helping to shape the path we take in terms of our health and the level of wellbeing we experience. We have all heard the expression ‘create your own reality’ which has been used as the underlying definition of this practice. Numerous teachers have explained the principles well, but I want to focus on using these techniques to with regards to health, healing and wellbeing.
Limiting Beliefs
We all have underlying attitudes, thoughts, emotions and expectations about how we experience our life (and our wellbeing) and sometimes these become limiting beliefs. These underlying thoughts and feelings can be at a deep subconscious level and they can also be very conscious. If our expectations are negative then we can expect to attract more negatives things to us and if they are positive, then more positive things can come into our lives. A good example is if you are going out for dinner and you anticipate having a lovely, wonderful, fun evening then chances are that you will experience more of those things. If we begrudgingly go out for dinner, it is less likely we’ll notice some of the good and pleasant things around us. An important part of understanding LOA is the role these limiting beliefs can play. For example, if you believe that your energy levels will never be like they used to be, then this is going to have some effect at some level.
Practical Applications
What I love about LOA is that anyone can apply it to their lives and enjoy the benefits it may bring and you can take onboard the principles to whatever degree is comfortable to you. There are some really good basic psychological approaches to life that are hard to disagree with. Identifying those limiting beliefs for example and then finding ways to replace them with something that is going to be more uplifting, edifying and beneficial for you. Part of this practice is to catch yourself when you are thinking negative thoughts about something – imagining a negative outcome or anticipating failure. Again when you are able to begin to replace these thoughts with something more positive, you are contributing to the potential outcome of that particular situation. This is a bit like using visualization, so see my article Law Of Attraction – Visualization And Healing, for more details. If you see yourself or focus on ‘struggling to walk’ as your arthritis gets worse, it may make it more difficult for you to be as enthusiastic about finding ways to deal with your disease.
Spirituality And The Law Of Attraction
You can also explore the more esoteric or spiritual dimensions to LOA as well if you want to. I’m always a bit reluctant to use the word spirituality as it is such a loaded word, without serious qualifications! But what I will say here is that there is most definitely a non-physical aspect to the practice of LOA that goes beyond our physical experience. The exciting thing is that you can delve into this side of things as deeply as you want to and if not, then just focus on the practical application I talked about above.
Law Of Attraction Healing Disease
As a Naturopath, I rarely say that something can cure or heal something else, but as a Naturopath I am often asked about this. When we talk about ‘healing’ or ‘cure’ we need to be aware that there are many ways we can understand and interpret these words. Someone may have a very different understanding of ‘healing’ to another person and this is not a simple situation. Philosophers have discussed long and hard about what it means to heal a disease. So an important part of using attraction laws when it comes to your health is going to be defining what it means to be healthy and to experience wellbeing and thinking and feeling through the various issues that surround this.
Power Of Positive Thinking
Few will argue against the value of this! Let’s look at one particular aspect of this and how this might apply to health. If you are new to LOA I suggest that you take from it that which makes sense to you and fits comfortably with your beliefs. Put aside anything that doesn’t resonate with you and one really good place to start is to focus on, and give attention and energy to, the things that are working well for you.
If you take enough time to stop and look, I’m sure that you will be able to see something positive around you. Now if you are unwell, you might find it difficult to see anything positive about your health – I really do understand that. So in these situations, we can look to other things and find something positive there, something that has nothing to do with your current health situation! Positive thoughts need to be nourished and encouraged and in some ways, it doesn’t matter if they are not focused on your health. If your health is just too full of negativity just now, then looking outside if this is going to be more helpful in getting your ‘positivity going’ so to speak!
I recall walking through the park on the way to my clinic and the only positive thing I could possibly focus on were the colours of the leaves on the tree and noticing all the variations of green I could see. Seriously, that was the only good thing in my mind at that time and I had to really focus on that.
To take this idea a step further, please check out my article, Affirmations – The Key To Law Of Attraction and Healing, where I explain in more detail how to apply this to health and healing.
Always Try To Seek The Positive
It is so easy to allow the negative things to become overwhelming and completely color your experience. If you are unwell, then a good example might be to, as much as you can, really focus on the things that are working well for you. You may be suffering from ongoing and severe hormonal problems for example, so spend time and energy focusing on things that are good about your health. For example, the mobility of your joints that allows to move around with ease as you go about your day to day activities. Perhaps focus on the fact that you can enjoy having really nutritious and delicious wholesome foods and beverages that contribute to your overall health and wellbeing. And embellish the positive emotions you feel – the pleasure you have when interacting with others, having fun and stimulating conversations for example. You get the point!
LOA encompasses such a broad range of issues – is a way of life really. A way to think and feel. As you understand the laws more and more, be patient as there is always something more to learn. I could have said so much more in this article and given more explanations, but just allow what I have said to sink in and undoubtedly some things will make sense and resonate with you. Hopefully you will have some more questions as well!
